Mio Shudo is an acclaimed musician on the piano, the harp and Japanese Koto. She is resident pianist and harpist on the Royal Yacht Britannia and Fingal and at the Caledonian Hotel and in Edinburgh.
Mio Shudo is a recognised Japanese cultural expert who has facilitated talks and workshops for over 25 years on a variety of topics across Scotland. Mio is an Urasenke Master of the Japanese Tea Ceremony and with the ‘Cup of Peace’ she shares the philosophy and depth of the heart of Japan. She is known for her humorous, thoughtful and traditional approach to Zen wisdom storytelling.
Mio regularly receives invitations to play at a diverse range of special events such as corporate gatherings, weddings, anniversaries, receptions, dinners, festivals, etc.
